Unit Rationale: Students will use multiple disciplines through cooperative learning to examine the success stories from underserved countries and their participation in the Olympics. Not all countries have the same number of athletes competing in the Olympics for various reasons. Students will look at countries that have less than 5 athletes participating and relate that to the available resources to train them. Students will choose an athlete from one of these countries and learn about that country and follow them throughout the Olympics. The students will use produce an equitable Olympic activity in the community.

- Does wealth impact how athletes are trained in order to be able to compete?
- How does an athlete's culture contribute to or inhibit that athlete's success
