Olympics and Art
The art of this Google doodle conveys a powerful social justice statement. Students will be consuming art by looking at how art plays a role in representing their chosen country by analyzing flags. In addition, students will produce a poster project connected to all content areas as well as create a sign representing their event focused on one of the multiple intelligences.

This unit focuses on the athletes stories from under-served countries. Not all countries have the same number of athletes competing in the Olympics for various reasons. Students will look at countries that have less than 5 athletes participating and examine how geography plays a roll in Olympic attendance. Students will choose an athlete from one of these countries to follow throughout the Olympics.
